In the last few years Alda Saunders has become fascinated with the way fine art jewelry can combine the structural and textural effects found in architecture and sculpture and composition with the variety and subtlety of color found in painting. She worked in silversmithing for a few years and then added the making of glass lampwork beads with a torch to her skills. The results are one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces, each one a piece of art. Often her jewelry has a theme, just as in a painting.
